Front car fog light effect

Ether Photoelectric Ltd | Updated: Oct 24, 2018

The LED Fog Lights is required to be placed at a national standard of not less than 250 mm from the ground. For M1 vehicles (that is, passenger cars in general sense), it is not more than 800 mm; for other vehicles, there is no maximum ground clearance requirement. In the direction of the reference axis, the entire viewing surface should be below the highest point of the low beam surface; in this constraint, placing the front fog lamp on the bumper at the lower front of the vehicle has become the choice of many OEMs. The geometric visibility of the front fog lamp requires the following picture. The geometric shape of the front fog lamp is very close to that of the high beam type. It is narrow and long, and the purpose is to enhance the light penetration, and the larger β2 angle The area of the road surface is guaranteed: its direction does not change with the steering angle, and because of its low position, the emitted light will not cause dazzling to the oncoming driver and other users when the car is on the head;

The front fog light color is white or yellow. Generally, the H3 bulb is used. Compared with the H1 bulb used in the high beam, the luminous flux is close to the same voltage (12V, H1 1550lm, H3 1450 lm). Then the problem comes, the front fog lamp Is the actual effect repeated with the high beam? In the ideal use case, the user uses the low beam light with the front fog lamp. However, in real life, we see more drivers who have the low beam, high beam and front fog lights all turned on. Therefore, the existence of the front fog lamp is not indispensable, and the regulations are not mandatory. Under the drive of cost reduction, many vehicles simply do the simple processing. In any case, the improvement of the lighting effect of the front fog lamp is certain.
